Cleevillains 5
Chelsea 3

Cleevillians came up against a strong and persistent
Chelsea side today but showed enough skill and balance to shrug them
off; Stu Skinner set the team off to a good start with a flick that was
too good for the keeper to get to as it slotted into the bottom corner.
However, after around 15 minutes of good hockey from Cleevillians
Chelsea equalised to level the game at 1-1.
Cleevillians were further dented losing Ben Link for
the best part of the last 10 minutes before half time due to
non-etiquette play from one of the opposition who has possibly caused
severe damage. However, Cleevillians refused to give in and battled
hard to keep the score at 1-1 and go into the second half with their
heads held high.
It took little time before the team got themselves
back together, Graham Coates and Niall Pawsey both on the end of well
worked moves from the struggling Ben Link putting the team in the lead
for the second time in the match. Women of the match Hannah Skinner
topped her great performance with a goal having saved the team on
several occasions making critical tackles to stop Chelsea breaking
through our defence, this can also be said for a young girl Rea Ewing
who made her debut today and should have every reason to be proud of
her performance.
Chelsea did however, get a few goals back but the
lead was too far to reach before full time. The final score ending at
5-3; a well worked performance from the Cleevillians mixed team.
