Ross-on-Wye 0
Cleevillians deservedly
avenged
their defeat by Ross-on-Wye earlier on in the season to remain 2 points
clear
at the top of the Hereford & Gloucester League 1.
Stuart Skinners' shot after 5 minutes was saved by the Ross
keeper and a great move minutes later saw a reverse stick shot by Tom
North go
narrowly wide, following a quick interchange with Toby Flanagan.
After half an hour Ben
Link from a
short corner set up Toby Flanagan for a shot at goal, but the chance
went wide
of the left hand post. However two minutes later Ben Link drove a side
line hit
to an unmarked Stuart Skinner who swept the ball low into the right
hand side
of the Ross goal.
Seven minutes into the
second half,
Scott Mcilquham hit a shot from a narrow angle that was again well
saved by the
Ross keeper, but Cleevillians second goal was only delayed a further 8
minutes,
when Tom North scored with a hard shot low to the keepers right hand
side. With 10 minutes remaining, Scott
Mcilquham
was once again unlucky not to score, this time his goal bound shot was
cleared
off the line. Three minutes after the
goal line clearance, Cleevillians scored their third goal when Ben Link
broke down
the right and his “shot come cross” was deflected in by Tom North, who
registered his 27th goal of the season so far.
