Cirencester
0 Cleevillians 5
Cleevillians
moved into 2nd place in the
Hereford & Gloucester League 1 following a deserved victory over a
battling
Cirencester side. Tom North opened the
scoring early on from a well taken short corner and then added a second
15
minutes later after being put through with a superb long pass from Toby
Flanagan. The keeper made a good initial save but was unable to stop
Tom's
follow-up shot.
Although
Cleevillians midfield worked well to maintain
control of the game, led by Stuart Skinner and man of the match Toby
Flanagan,
neither side created any more clear cut chances leading up to the
interval.
In the
second half Cleevillians raised the tempo of
their game, particularly in attack. From
one of these breaks, Vince Clark drove into the "D" before scoring
his 13th goal of the season. The same
goal scorer converted from another well taken short corner before
completing a
second half hat-trick with a clever lob.
Cirencester responded by creating a couple of half chances
themselves
but Cleevillians ended up deserved winners.
