Cleevillians 2 Lansdown
A 0
Cleevillians
maintained their good start to the
season with a hard fought victory over local rivals Lansdown. Early on Martin Halls shot just wide whilst
Rob Link made a number of important saves, but it was Man of the Match
Toby
Flanagan who set Cleevillians going with a superb long pass which Vince
Clark
converted by flicking the ball over the advancing Lansdown keeper. The goal after 25 minutes seemed to settle
the home team and they saw out the half without conceding any more
chances.
Ten
minutes into the second half, Sean Flanagan
tackled an opposition player before launching another accurate pass to
Vince
Clark who scored his 12th goal in 4 games with a reverse flick into the
corner
of the goal. Thereafter Lansdown
increased the tempo of their game but despite winning a number of short
corners
were only able to create one shot on target which Rob Link and Tony
Pierce
combined to clear off the line.
