Match Report for Sat 8th Nov 2008

Cleevillians 1  Leominster 0

Cleevillians remain top of the Hereford & Gloucester League 1 but were lucky to escape with a victory against a very determined Leominster side.

In a game where the goalkeepers had little to do, it was the visitors who played the better pressing hockey leaving Cleevillians indebted to its defence, in particular Ade Barratt and man of the match Stuart Skinner.

Tom North had an early chance to open the scoring but his shot was well saved by the Leominster keeper.  With 5 minutes remaining to half time, Vince Clark took the ball around the keeper only to see his goal bound shot stopped by a defenders outstretched leg.  Stuart Skinner converted the resultant penalty flick.
