Cleevillians 3
Robinsons 2
Cleevillians opened this season’s campaign with a deserved win over Robinsons from Bristol. Martin Halls scored Cleevillians first goal with a neatly flicked shot following a pass from Ben Link.
Cleevillians were able to dominate the first half through an energetic midfield, with Toby Flanagan, Ben Link and in particular Tom Walter making surges deep into the Robinsons half. Despite creating a number of chances the home side only went into the break 1-0 up.
Shortly after half time, Robinsons broke down a Cleevillians attack and took the ball the entire length of the pitch before equalising with a well taken goal. Rob Link restored the lead for the Cleevillians 15 minutes later following a couple of blocked shots. Tom North extended the lead with a well taken low shot drilled into the bottom right corner of the goal and despite a late own goal by Andy Davies, Cleevillians held onto a deserved victory.
